Jose Mourinho Perfectly Predicted Serge Aurier's Penalty Horror Show

Jose Mourinho perfectly predicted the type of penalty Serge Aurier gave away on Sunday afternoon, during the Amazon Prime documentary that followed Spurs last season.

A poor week for Mourinho's side came to an end on Sunday afternoon as the north London side lost to Leicester City, to follow the draw with Crystal Palace last weekend and a loss to Liverpool in midweek.

Whilst Spurs rarely looked like troubling the scoring against Brendan Rodgers' side, it was the two goals they conceded that put an end to the chances of finishing the weekend second in the Premier League table.

Leicester's opener was particularly damaging to Spurs chances, as VAR spotted Serge Aurier barging into Wesley Fofana on the stroke of half time, with Jamie Vardy slotting home the penalty.

Mourinho knew that Aurier was going to give away a 'sh*t' penalty through VAR eventually, as he pointed out in the Amazon documentary last season.

James Maddison was unlucky to be ruled offside by VAR after it looked like he doubled the Foxes' lead early in the second half.

However Leicester didn't have to wait too long to make it 2-0. A long ball into the box was headed across goal by Jamie Vardy and Toby Alderweireld knocked it past Hugo Lloris and into his own net.

Much like in the midweek loss to leaders Liverpool, Mourinho didn't think his side had played badly at all and claimed that his side had been in control when going 1-0 down, "We didn't start well. I could go on the individuals but I don't, he said to Sky Sports, "But in our best period in the first half when we were totally in control and had a couple of good chances to score, expecting to go in 0-0 you go with 1-0 down.

"Then in the second half we score in our own goal when we had possession and we were in more creation. That was difficult. The reaction was positive.

"Schmeichel made a couple of important saves but in the end it's the game we lose with the penalty and the own goal and it looks like, with the result, the opponent was totally in control or better than us but that was not the reality.

"Our performance was not good but it was not like they deserved to win, or we deserved to lose. It was a poor game."

Whether he was right about the goal or not, Mourinho certainly got it spot on when it came to Aurier...
