Liverpool transfer target takes drastic action to force move with new bid imminent

Liverpool's next key transfer target is taking matters into his own hands in an attempt to force a move to Anfield before the window closes.

After a busy summer of transfer deals, Deadline Day is almost upon us, with just over 48 hours left of the 2026/27 summer window remaining.

In light of this, several clubs across the Premier League are believed to be busy working to secure some last-minute moves to help improve their squads following the first two matches of the season.

Having recently completed a deal for their top target Bradley Barcola, who is set to join from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth up to £123million, it is believed that Liverpool will still sign at least one more player before the window closes on Tuesday.

Despite already signing Barcola and Victor Munoz as new attacking talents on the wings, it has widely been reported that Liverpool are hoping to sign another wide forward this summer, with several players linked with a move.

Among those linked is Crystal Palace winger Ismalia Sarr, with reports suggesting he is 'desperate' to make a move to Anfield after Liverpool saw an initial bid £50m rejected.

So much so, that it appears that he's making it abundantly clear that he views his chapter with Palace as ending by deleting all photos and references to the London club from his social media accounts.

All Crystal Palace related posts on Instagram have been removed, with his only post remaining being a message following Senegal's exit from the World Cup this summer.

According to the Sun, Sarr feels that he has 'served Palace well' having joined on in August 2024, helping the Eagles win both the FA Cup and Conference League.

Last season, following the departures of other key players in both Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze, Sarr stepped up to become somewhat of a talisman for Palace, enjoyed his best season to date, scoring 21 times in all competitions.

It therefore comes as no surprise that Palace appear to be reluctant to let their star man leave this summer, having already turned down approaches from Galatasaray and Al-Ittihad as well as Liverpool's initial bid.

But, it is now believed that, having left Sarr out of the matchday squad for both of their Premier League fixtures so far this season, Palace are more open to letting him go and have entered advanced talks with the hopes to strike an agreement before the window closes.

With that in mind, it is believed that a new bid could arrive on Monday (August 31).

As for the price, it is believed the bid will be between €75m (£64m) and €80m (£68m), which would make him the most expensive Senegalese player in English history.

What other business will Liverpool do this summer?

Alongside relaunching their pursuit of Sarr, it is believed that Liverpool are still considering a late move for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh, having submitted two bids for the Ghanian star.

Recent reports have also linked the Reds with 6’7” goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans, with talks already underway amid reports that Giorgi Mamardashvili could leave to join Nottingham Forest.

And it's not just new incomings that Liverpool will be working on ahead of the deadline, as Harvey Elliott, Stefan Bajcetic and Cody Gakpo are all heavily linked with Anfield exits.
