Liverpool agree two transfers in space of an hour as stunning double deal emerges

Liverpool have completed two new signings in just one hour as Andoni Iraola revamps his squad ahead of the transfer window closing.

Deadline Day is rapidly approaching, with less than 36 hours left until the 2026/27 summer transfer window officially shuts.

Several clubs are expected to complete important last-minute moves in the final hours of the window, with Liverpool believed to be among the busiest in the Premier League.

As it stands, fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement of Liverpool's signing of their top target Bradley Barcola, who is set to join from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth up to £123million.

But that doesn't mean that Liverpool's business in the transfer window is over, as the Reds are believed to be working on several other deals this summer.

And, seemingly out of nowhere, it's been confirmed that Liverpool have completed two new deals for exciting future stars, including another brand new forward.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the first signing of the day was 18 year old goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans, who was first linked with a move on Sunday as a potential replacement for Giorgi Mamardashvili.

The youngster is set to complete a medical in the coming days before joining in the summer of next year, with a €35m (£30.3m) package already agreed.

It is believed that Liverpool's plan is to loan Brughmans back to Genk, something that could change if Mamardashvili leaves.

Not long after, Romano published another update confirming that Liverpool have also completed a surprise deal to sign Djylian N'Guessan from Saint Etienne.

The 18-year-old French striker is also viewed as an exciting talent for the future, set to join in summer 2027 subject to him completing a medical.

It's currently not known how much Liverpool are set to pay for the young forward, but he is currently valued at around 4m (£3.46m).

Who are Liverpool signings Lucca Brughmans and Djylian N'Guessan?

Standing at a massive 6’7″, Brughmans has made just 15 appearances for current club Genk, keeping six clean sheets in that time, but has attracted interest from across Europe, including from German giants Bayern Munich.

Club officials are said to be “convinced by the future potential” of the youngster, who could enjoy semi-regular minutes when he arrives at Anfield next year.

Meanwhile N'Guessan is a versatile forward who can play up front or on either wing who has already played 13 times for Saint-Etienne, scoring his first senior goal in November, despite only turning 18 on Sunday.

Like Brughmans, he is expected to spend another season with the French side Ligue 2 to get more experience before joining Liverpool.

The France U20 star will likely join up with Liverpool U21s when he initially joins, but he is reportedly viewed as an exciting future talent who could be given early opportunities training with the first team.
