The Liverpool dressing room’s true feelings on Mohamed Salah’s controversial interview have reportedly emerged.
On December 6, Salah was benched for the third successive Premier League match as Liverpool surrendered a two-goal lead in the 3-3 draw against Leeds United at Elland Road.
Following the match, the Egyptian spoke to the gathered members of the media and delivered a controversial interview, in which he condemned how he’s been treated by head coach Arne Slot and the club.
The 33-year-old, who only signed a new two-year deal at Anfield in April, explained how he no longer has a relationship with Slot while also suggesting that someone wants him to leave the club without naming who he was talking about.

Salah also hinted that Liverpool’s Premier League fixture against Brighton and Hove Albion on December 13 could be his last for the club.
As expected, almost every notable pundit and former player associated with the Premier League has since weighed in with their thoughts.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher arguably put forward the strongest take and branded Salah’s comments a “disgrace” before accusing the player of selfishness.
Carragher said: “I thought it was a disgrace with what he did. I think when he stops in the mixed zone, it’s choreographed with him and his agent to cause maximum damage and strengthen his own position.”
Meanwhile, his fellow Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard said he actually respected the fact that Salah wanted to play, but also added that “The couple of lines about throwing people under the bus [were] wrong”.
Paul Merson, who previously represented clubs such as Arsenal and Aston Villa, suggested that Salah was entitled to vent his frustration and was keen to remind fans that even Sunday league players tend to be annoyed if they are left out of squads.

Nonetheless, it is clear that Slot viewed Salah’s behaviour as unacceptable, which was apparent when he left him out of the Reds’ squad for the side’s 1-0 win over Inter in the Champions League on December 9.
Fans have also been keen to see what the squad’s reaction was, with Andrew Robertson maintaining that he’s keen to keep playing with Salah in his post-match interview at the San Siro following Liverpool’s match in Milan.
Well, according to the Mail, Slot has retained the faith of his players more than ever following the Salah debacle, with most stars feeling that the manager gets the best out of them despite the recent run of poor results.
The Mail also claim that the decision to leave the player out of the travelling party ahead of the clash in Milan was “made in conjunction by the hierarchy” rather than solely by Slot.
So, for now, Slot appears to have the power in relation to the situation, but as ever, his future is result-dependent.
