Liverpool left-back Andrew Robertson spoke out about Mohamed Salah’s situation following Arne Slot’s side’s 1-0 win against Inter in the Champions League.

Liverpool, who were without Salah after the Egyptian was omitted from the travelling party following his controversial post-match interview after the side’s 3-3 draw against Leeds United, ran out 1-0 winners thanks to Dominik Szoboszlai’s late penalty, with the win moving them up to eighth in the 36-team group phase.

Slot’s side were certainly not at their best but will no doubt head into Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Brighton at Anfield feeling slightly more positive than after last weekend’s result.

Of course, the narrative over the past few days has been about Salah’s future – or lack of it – at Liverpool.

As you likely already know, Salah claimed that he felt he had been “thrown under the bus” with the Reds struggling this term before also claiming he and head coach Slot “don’t have a relationship” and that “someone doesn’t want me in the club” after the draw at Elland Road.

Since then, he has been heavily criticised by former players and pundits, with ex-Reds defender Jamie Carragher branding his comments a “disgrace” on Monday Night Football.

“I thought it was a disgrace with what he did. I think when he stops in the mixed zone, it’s choreographed with him and his agent to cause maximum damage and strengthen his own position,” Carragher said in an eight-and-a-half-minute rant.

"He did that 12 months ago, and I called him out on this show about it, and he played on the heartstrings of Liverpool supporters.”

Slot has also made it clear that players speaking out in such a way is unacceptable, but what do the Liverpool dressing room think of Salah’s recent behaviour?

Speaking to Amazon Prime after his side’s win in Milan, left-back Robertson offered his thoughts on the situation.

“We're talking about one of the greatest players to play for this club,” the Scotland international claimed.

“I signed in the same window as him. Whatever has happened, happened. Internally, we're all together.”

When asked about Salah’s future, he added: "That'll be up to other people, it's not up to me. I love playing with Mo Salah, and I hope to continue playing with him.

"We know how important being in that top eight is and avoiding a play-off. We got unlucky last season with who we drew."
