Liverpool Name Shock Player in Squad to Face Inter Amid Mo Salah Omission

Liverpool have named a shock player in their squad to face Inter Milan in the Champions League after making a decision on Mohamed Salah.

The Reds resume their Champions League campaign on Tuesday when they face Inter at the San Siro.

Arne Slot's side head into their European clash off the back of squandering a two-goal lead against Leeds United in a game that ended 3-3.

But Saturday's Premier League fixture was overshadowed by Salah's bombshell interview, where he claimed he has been 'thrown under the bus' by Liverpool and his relationship with Slot has broken down.

Salah took to the field as he trained with the rest of his teammates in Monday's training session ahead of the squad flying out to Milan.

However, he has been left out of Liverpool's 19-man squad to take on Inter.

Salah has been removed from selection by Slot, who has named him on the bench for his team's last three games.

The usual names have been included in Liverpool's travelling squad to face Inter, including captain Virgil van Dijk, Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexander Isak to name but a few.

But Slot has sprung a surprise by selecting 19-year-old defender Wellity Lucky.

Who is Wellity Lucky?

Lucky began his footballing journey at Spanish side Club Deportivo San Gregorio Arrabal before moving to the youth academy of Real Zaragoza.

At 13, he joined Liverpool's youth academy before making his first-team debut in October after signing his first professional contract with the club in April 2023.

The teenager came off the bench to make his first appearance for Liverpool in their 3-0 home defeat to Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup.

He replaced Andy Robertson in the 67th minute of their cup tie against Palace at Anfield.

The centre-back was born in Spain and has Nigerian descent through his parents.

He's eligible to represent England, having moved to the country with his family at the age of 11.
