Three Clubs Target Mo Salah as Liverpool Rule Out 'Unthinkable' Option

Mohamed Salah's Liverpool future remains in the balance.

Three clubs are reportedly in the running to sign Mohamed Salah as his Liverpool future remains up in the air after his explosive interview.

On Saturday evening, Liverpool's poor form continued as they threw away a 2-0 and 3-2 lead to draw 3-3 with Leeds United at Elland Road.

Ao Tanaka scored an injury-time equaliser to pile more misery on Arne Slot, who is under increasing pressure to turn things around.

After the match, Salah, who was benched by Slot for a third-straight game, unleashed in the mixed zone.

The Egyptian expressed his disappointment while stating he has 'no relationship' with Slot and also accused Liverpool of 'throwing him under the bus'.

Salah said: "I’m sitting on the bench for 90 minutes, I think that’s the third time I’m on the bench. I think it’s the first time in my career but I’m very disappointed. I’m very, very disappointed to be fair. I have done so much for this club, everybody can see that during the years and especially last season.

"Sitting on the bench, I don’t know why, it seems like the club has thrown me under the bus. That’s how I feel it. I think it’s very clear that someone wants me to get all the blame."

Following his public outburst, Salah has now been linked with a January move away from Liverpool.

According to The Athletic, Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, plus MLS clubs San Diego FC and Chicago Fire, could be potential options.

The report stated: "Chicago Fire made an attempt to sign Salah before he re-signed with Liverpool in April. It would make sense that Chicago would look to approach again."

Meanwhile, Al Hilal will for sure have the resources to strike a deal with Liverpool for Salah.

Liverpool's stance on sacking Arne Slot revealed

Amid the Salah saga, The Athletic added that although results have been poor, Liverpool will not sack Slot purely because a player has decided to throw his toys out of the pram.

The report added: "The Dutchman retains the support of FSG and sacking a manager on the back of a player challenging a selection decision is unthinkable, no matter how iconic the player being left out happens to be."

Slot is set to speak to the media on Monday evening ahead of Liverpool's UEFA Champions League clash against Inter Milan, which will take place at the San Siro on Tuesday night.

It remains to be seen whether Salah will be part of the Reds' travelling squad.
