Outspoken presenter Richard Keys has weighed in with his take on Jamie Carragher’s criticism of Mohamed Salah after the Egyptian's controversial interview following Liverpool’s 3-3 draw against Leeds United.
Salah’s time at Liverpool appears to be nearing its end after the forward gave a hugely controversial interview to journalists gathered in the mixed zone of Elland Road.
This came after the 33-year-old was benched by head coach Arne Slot for the third consecutive Premier League game. He was also later left out of Liverpool’s squad for their 1-0 win against Inter in the Champions League on December 9.
During Salah’s interview, he hinted that Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Brighton and Hove Albion could be his last for the club as he feels he has been “thrown under the bus” for the side’s poor form, while also suggesting there has been a breakdown in the relationship between himself and Slot.

As expected, several notable figures in the media have since had their say on Salah’s comments, with ex-Liverpool defender Carragher branding what the player said as a “disgrace”.
In an eight-and-a-half-minute rant on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, the Liverpudlian, who is second on the club’s list of appearance makers with 737 behind Ian Callaghan, said: "I thought it was a disgrace what he did after the game. Some people have painted it as an emotional outburst, I don't think it was.
"I think whenever Mo Salah stops in a mixed zone, which he's done four times in eight years at Liverpool, it's choreographed, with him and his agent to cause maximum damage and strengthen his own position. He did that 12 months ago - and I called him out about it - and he played on the heartstrings of Liverpool supporters.”
The defender then added: "He's chosen this weekend to do this now, and he's waited, I think, for a bad result with Liverpool - concede a last-minute goal... Everyone involved with the club feels like they're in the gutter at the moment, and he's chosen that time to go for the manager and maybe try and get him sacked. That's the way I felt about it.”
Since then, Steven Gerrard and Thierry Henry have both been praised for their takes on the situation, while Salah’s former Egypt teammate, Ahmed Elmohamady, aimed a brutal message at Carragher on social media.
After calling him a disgrace, the former Villa man homed in on Carragher’s comments about Salah failing to win the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt while other top players have effectively carried nations.
Part of Elmohamady’s post read: “A Premier League legend. Egypt’s greatest ever player.
“One of the most consistent forwards of his generation. Salah has carried Egypt for years.
“And getting Egypt qualified for the World Cup twice after so long, Salah earned everything. No wonder you got blanked by C.Ronaldo. No wonder Messi called you. No wonder Mourinho said you were below. Average and not even in the top 1000 defenders.”
And former Sky Sports presenter Keys clearly agrees with the Egyptian's take as he quote-tweeted his post, accompanied with a thumbs-up emoji.
