Conor McGregor Drops Boxing Hint And Reveals His Next Fight Upon UFC Return

Conor McGregor will return to action next year.

Conor McGregor has provided a positive update on his recovery and says he will 'walk straight' into a title fight upon his UFC return.

McGregor suffered a nasty leg break in his defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 last month.

He's on the mend after undergoing surgery and claims to be 'improving rapidly' ahead of his Octagon comeback in 2022.

Asked when he will fight again, he replied: "2022. I’m improving rapidly! Working with the best team money can buy! I’ll be back in no time, lock loaded!"

The former UFC 'champ-champ' also teased another foray into the world of boxing, while saying he will compete for UFC gold in his return bout.

"Possibly," he said regarding a switch to boxing in the latter stage of his career. "The leg tho will be more than equipped to kick. I am billi walking straight to a title shot on my return and it sickens the bums of this business. Which is the real reason these constant disrespectful comments come by way. God bless them."

What about a third UFC championship in a third weight division? Well, the ex-UFC featherweight and lightweight title holder hinted at potentially campaigning at welterweight.

He tweeted: "Quite possible, yes."

McGregor's fought the very best the UFC has to offer, but he failed to recognise any of his rivals when asked to pick his toughest opponent, tweeting: "The scale."

So, McGregor could be fighting either Charles Oliveira or Poirier for the UFC lightweight title.

A championship clash between Oliveira and Poirier is reportedly in the works, with McGregor supposedly in line to fight the winner.
