A damning statistic from Michael 'Venom' Page's UFC career could explain Dana White's decision to remove him from the roster.
When he officially signed for the UFC back in December 2023, expectations on British MMA star Page, who enjoyed an impressive career with rival organisation Bellator, were high.
Unfortunately, it appears that the UFC may feel that Page hasn't lived up to this hype, with reports suggesting that his contract with the organisation won't be renewed, and one particular statistic could explain why.

On Saturday night, Page made completed his six-fight UFC contract with a win over Nursulton Ruziboev in Paris, taking his record in the UFC to five wins and one loss.

With plenty of discussions about his future in the UFC taking place ahead of the fight, it was widely viewed that Page needed a statement performance to convince the organisation to re-sign him on another deal.
Despite getting the win, that wasn't what we got, with fans regularly booing to show their disliking of what was a relatively boring affair.
Shortly after, a leaked email shared by MMA reporter John Morgan on social media appears to have confirmed that Page will not return to the UFC octagon as he is no longer eligible to be included in the middleweight rankings.
âDear Panellists, Michael Page has been removed from rankings eligibility effective immediately,â the email read.
âIf you ranked him in your middleweight division already, we ask that you please re-rank that division to make sure you have 15 athletes.â
At the time of writing, neither Page or the UFC have officially confirmed his release, but it appears increasingly likely that we won't see the Brit back in the UFC octagon any time soon.
Perhaps the most damning statistic to come from Page's stint in the UFC is his total significant strikes landed as, despite being widely regarded as a stellar stand-up fighter, he landed just 173 significant strikes across his six fights.
Comparatively, former UFC champion and fav-favourite fighter Max Holloway once secured 445 significant strikes in just one fight, setting the now infamous record during his January 2021 bout against Calvin Kattar.
This stat aptly sums up the main issue that followed Page throughout his UFC career, he simply wasn't putting in enough exciting performances for the UFC to decide to hand him a new contract.

Speaking after his fight against Ruziboev in Paris, Page admitted that he didn't think he'd be offered a new UFC deal despite his win.
âThey werenât happy with me before, theyâre not gonna be happy with me now,â he said during his post-fight press conference.
âIf I put myself in their shoes, itâs like, same thing. âWe can sign him again, but are we gonna see much more?ââ
It therefore remains to be seen what's next for Page, with a move to join Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions following the official merger with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) in July perhaps the next best option.
