Michael Page has explained the one reason why he doesn't want to fight on the UFC's White House card this summer.

The UFC is enjoying a strong start to 2026, with several big fights taking place ahead of a historic event set to take place on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C in June.

Following the announcement of the White House card, which is set to celebrate Donald Trump's birthday, several fighters have put themselves forward to feature on the event.

Former champions Jon Jones and Conor McGregor are just two of the names that have been outspoken in their desire to fight at the White House this summer.

But one fighter who is adamant he will not be fighting on the White House card is British superstar Page, who explained why he has no interest in the event during an exclusive interview with SPORTbible.

Page returns to the octagon as part of the main card for the UFC's return to London's O2 Arena on March 21.

The 38-year-old, who is coming off of back to back wins in the middleweight division, is returning to welterweight to face Sam Patterson.

Ahead of the fight, Page spoke exclusively to SPORTbible about his future plans, assuring that he intends to remain in the welterweight division, with a title shot his main ambition.

But if a welterweight title fight is to come in Page's future, it won't be on the White House card this summer, as he made it abundantly clear that he was not interested in fighting in front of the crowd attending the event in Washington.

"Nah, not at all. If you look at the state of the world right now, I don’t really want to entertain those people," Page revealed when asked if he would fight at the event.

He added: "I think that makes sense, I don’t really need to say too much.”

Although there is no word yet on who exactly will be permitted to attend the White House event, UFC UFC President and CEO Dana White recently confirmed that there would 5000 spectators for the show.

It is likely that this number will include a smaller group of members of the public, with much of the audience being people close to Trump, as the US president even ensured that the International G7 Summit was moved in order to allow him to attend the UFC card.

Page didn't explain exactly why he was so adamantly against featuring on the White House card, but he wouldn't be the first to feel that the political landscape surrounding the White House card is a reason to avoid it.

Speaking ahead of his fight at this weekend's UFC card in Mexico City, former two-time flyweight champion Brandon Moreno also made it clear that a fight at the White House was not something that would interest him.

When asked if he would raise his hand for the White House card, he replied: "Brother, I want you to tell me why I would want to be there."

The reporter replied by calling it a 'very special' event.

To which Moreno added: "For you? I'm not interested. Thank you very much."

Fans of Page will no doubt be disappointed to hear that the dynamic striker, known for his spectacular knockouts, will not be fighting at the White House.

As it stands, it is not yet known who will feature on the card, despite White confirming that the matchmaking for the event had been completed.

But fans will be hoping to get some more information about the event on Friday evening, as the UFC boss is set to go live on Instagram to make several fight announcements.

Rumours have suggested that a fight between Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulbergor for the vacant light heavyweight title could be confirmed as the main event of UFC 327 in Miami this April, but news about the White House card could still follow.
