How many good players do Germany have? Enough to leave out Leroy Sane apparently.
When Joachim Low announced his initial squad for the World Cup this summer he left out Mario Gotze, the man who scored the winning goal in the final four years ago.
That was shocking enough. Sure Gotze has been without full fitness since but if an Englishman ever wins the World Cup he'll be in every squad until he can no longer walk again.

But now Low has landed an even bigger shock with Premier League Young Player of the Year Leroy Sane being left at home.
.
Sane was one of Manchester City's best players as Pep Guardiola's team broke Premier League records of most goals scored and most points won.
The former Schalke winger scored 10 goals and put on 15 assists for his teammates just in the league and it's absolute madness that he's missed out.

Some of the names going ahead of the 22 year old make the whole thing even more surprising.
Julian Draxler was the man of the tournament at the Confederations Cup last year but the PSG man only started 19 league games last season and scored just four goals.
Bayer Leverkusen's Julian Brandt is another one who is in the squad ahead of Sane and despite a decent season he's not been as good as the City man, not by a long way.

Marco Reus missed out on Brazil four years ago with an injury and the Borussia Dortmund man has once again suffered with injures, only making 11 appearances in the Bundesliga this season.
Sane started Germany's recent World Cup warm up match against Austria and the world champions suffered a shock 2-1 loss, which could have contributed to the decision.
One positive for the rest of us is that Mario Gomez is included in the squad. He may be 32 and not at the peak of his powers but you better believe we'll be hitting the Mario Gomez button if he scores.

Just how you can leave out Sane?!
