Real Madrid make final offer to Vinicius Junior and it changes everything about Arsenal saga

Arsenal may be able to make a breakthrough in their pursuit of Vinicius Jr as Real Madrid have made their final offer to their star winger, and they're refusing to budge.

After finally winning a major trophy for the first time under Mikel Arteta, it appears that Arsenal are prepared to spend big in the summer transfer market.

So far the reigning Premier League champions have secured a permanent move for Piero Hincapie, who impressed on loan last season, as well as signing a new winger in Christos Tzolis and a backup keeper in Illan Meslier.

Since then, Arsenal have been linked with several big names expected to play a big role in Arteta's starting lineup, including a blockbuster double move for Brazilian pair Bruno Guimaraes and Vinicius Junior.

As it stands, it is widely expected that Guimaraes will make the move to the Emirates in the coming weeks, for a fee around £80million, with the signing of Vinicius expected to be more difficult.

The 26-year-old's current deal with Real Madrid is set to expire in June next year, meaning the Spanish giants will have to sell him in the coming months if they continue to struggle to agree terms for a new deal.

Vinicius is currently earning around €17.5m (£15m) believed to be demanding a new deal worth €30m (£25.7m) per year, including his salary and bonuses, an amount exceeding Real Madrid's current valuation.

But now, after weeks of negotiations, it appears Real Madrid have finally settled on their final extension proposal, offering Vinicius a contract worth around €22m (£18.8m) a year.

According to ESPN, it is so far unclear how long the extension is for, but should it not be accepted, Madrid would be open to the possibility of a departure for Vinicius in the coming weeks.

Therefore, if Vinicius isn't happy to accept nearly £7m less annually than he wanted, he will be available on the market and Arsenal will finally be able to make an official move, with a deal likely to cost north of £100m.

Real Madrid and Vinicius Jr clash over key demand in contract renewal

The report comes just hours after it was revealed that the key point of contention between Vinicius' contract demands and the deal offered by Real Madrid relates to the winger's demands of a renewal bonus.

As part of his £25.7m annual package, the Brazilian is hoping to secure a bonus for agreeing to extend his stay at the Bernabeu, a detail that the La Liga giants are unwilling to accept.

It is claimed that Real Madrid fear that giving in to such a demand could create a knock-on effect among the squad and end up costing the club an eye-watering amount of money in the foreseeable future.

Ultimately, the final say with regards to Vinicius' future will lie with his representatives, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and, of course, the man himself.
