Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has reacted to Mesut Ozil calling time on his Germany career in brutal fashion.

And to be quite frank, it's absolutely uncalled for.

Ozil received horrific racist abuse after Germany's disastrous World Cup campaign. The defending champions crashed out in the Group Stage.

Ozil was targeted following his performances in Russia. Criticism was intensified due to his controversial picture with Turkey president Tayyip Erdogan.

As a result, Ozil has retired from international duty posting a lengthy message on social media.

Hoeness, who played for West Germany, is delighted with the Arsenal midfielder quitting the international stage while claiming he's been playing 's***'.

"I am glad that this scare is now over. He had been playing s*** for years," he said.

"He last won a tackle before the 2014 World Cup. And now he and his s***** performance hide beyond this picture.

"Whenever [Bayern] played against Arsenal, we played over him because we knew that was their weak point.

"His 35 million follower boys - that don't exist in real world - are convinced he has played sublimely when he completes a cross pass.

"The development in our country is a catastrophe. You have to go back to what it is: sport. And from a sporting point of view, Ozil has no place in the national team for years."

Hmm interesting.

A lack of regard shown towards Ozil who has been named Germany's Player of the Year an impressive FIVE times during his illustrious career.

Not to mention helping his country win the World Cup in 2014.

Arsenal teammate Hector Bellerin and Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand have both commended Ozil's bravery.

Respect.
