Liverpool have posted a video on social media to excite fans for the release of their new third kit for the 2026/27 season.
The new jersey is predominantly black with maroon detailing throughout the body and matte silver accents, with the goalkeeper kit being green.
It was inspired by the club’s iconic European nights, and the video features footage from some of Liverpool’s most memorable moments in the biggest competition on the continent.
Now, for this season, this jersey will be used predominantly in away fixtures for the Champions League, as the league phase draw is being done later today and the Reds will find out which opponents they may have to wear this against.

As the video attempted to mix in comedic elements, showing the jersey being made in a lab to make it scientifically perfect, while cutting to footage from those memorable European nights, including Steven Gerrard’s goal against Olympiacos, there are fans who are disappointed with the post.
The main complaint of the video appears to be the decision not to use a Scouse accent, instead using the voice talent of Adolescence star, Owen Cooper.
Cooper is a Liverpool fan, having declared his love of the club on several occasions previously, but the fact that the Warrington-born actor does not have a Scouse accent has proven to many fans that the social media post is out of touch.
Retired boxer and Liverpool fan, Paul Smith voiced his frustration at the voiceover on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Smith said: “City full of people more than qualified to do a voiceover for the club, and they use someone not from the city.”
Another supporter agreed, as they said: “Would it have hurt to use someone with a Scouse accent? You know the place the club is from.”
While one fan shared: “I know it's a small thing but to not use a Scouse accent to advertise a Liverpool shirt shows the disconnect between the club and supporters. The fact there is no one at the club to recognise this shows how FSG regards the club.”
Several were quick to share their frustrations at the decision to have, in their eyes, a ‘Manc’ do the voiceover.
One supporter said: “Imagine a Scouser doing the Man Utd equivalent.”
While there is clearly frustration from fans regarding the social media post and the voiceover, and its out-of-touch nature.
Yet, if Liverpool were to find success in this kit and lift silverware wearing it, there is a chance fans may be able to get over this voiceover in this video.
