10 Premier League players you definitely won’t see again as transfer window opens

The Barclays Premier League will say goodbye to some pretty big names this summer

The summer transfer window opened this week, meaning some players will have already played their final game in the Premier League.

Manchester City legend Kevin de Bruyne has left the club following the expiry of his contract and is reportedly set to join Napoli.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen are both leaving the Premier League to join European giants Real Madrid.

And some players are looking to drop down the divisions as they approach the end of their careers.

Leicester City star Jamie Vardy ended an incredible career at the King Power with 200 goals in 500 games, winning a Premier League and FA Cup in the process.

And Manchester United are losing academy product Jonny Evans for a second time alongside Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof. With that in mind, here's ten players we reckon have had their final game in the Premier League - and on that note, we wish them all the best:

Antony.
Stu Forster

Antony

The 25-year-old Brazilian moved to Real Betis on loan in January after a torrid time at Man Utd since he joined for £82 million in 2023.

He scored nine goals in 26 appearances during an impressive loan spell and will surely move abroad as he looks to reinvigorate his career.

United are also keen to sell the winger as they embark on an attacking overhaul, with the Brazilian taking more than £100,000 every single week he's at the club.

Kevin De Bruyne

The 33-year-old Belgian midfielder leaves as a Premier League legend, having won six titles and a Champions League at Manchester City.

De Bruyne said he was 'surprised' that City did not offer him a contract extension, but Pep Guardiola's side is set on an overhaul as he looks to regain his position at the top of the Premier League after an underwhelming trophyless season.

He is being tipped to join Antonio Conte's Napoli.

Dean Huijsen

His standout performances for Bournemouth have already earned him a move to Xabi Alonso's Real Madrid.

The Spanish defender moved to the south coast for an initial fee of €15.2 million and will leave for £50 million this summer. Quite the bit of business from the English side.

Mark Flekken

The 31-year-old joined Brentford in 2023 from Freiburg and has now returned to the Bundesliga to join Erik ten Hag's Bayer Leverkusen.

He made 77 appearances for the Bees, becoming the side's number one when David Raya joined Arsenal.

Jonny Evans

The veteran defender has announced his retirement from football after his contract at United expired.

Across two spells at the club he won everything in football, including three league titles and a Champions League.

Between his two spells for Utd the Northern Irishman enjoyed a run at West Brom and Leicester City, with him winning the FA Cup with the Foxes in 2021.

Christian Eriksen

The 33-year-old Danish midfielder is another player whose contract expired at Man United.

Championship side Wrexham are reportedly interested in signing the FA and Carabao Cup winner.

In a recent interview, he expressed his desire to move away from England if he could after spending a decade in the Premier League.

Victor Lindelof

The Swede spent nearly eight years at Old Trafford, but his next club looks set to be overseas.

A largely dependable defender, but he struggled to adapt to the physicality of the league at times.

Danny Ings

The 32-year-old will leave West Ham United when his contract expires.

He has also been linked with Wrexham, who under their Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

The club are keen on adding top-flight experience as they move in to the Championship.

Ashley Young

The defender will turn 40 next month when he leaves Everton as a free agent and is in the twilight of his career.

He is not planning to retire from football, so the ex-England international will likely play in a lower division if he wants to guarantee himself minutes.

Jamie Vardy

Vardy has also been linked with Wrexham, but there is also speculation of a potential move to the MLS.

Rangers have also been linked to the forward as he eyes Champions League football in his latter playing years.
