Max Verstappen vs 100 go-karters descends into chaos during dramatic race
Max Verstappen has shown exactly why he's one of the greatest of all time after a chaotic race against 100 go-karters.
On Wednesday evening on a new go-kart track built at the iconic Silverstone, Formula One legend Verstappen took on one of the most bonkers races of all time as he competed against 100 go-karters in a 30 lap race.
The four-time champion started right at the back of the 101-racer grid, and had the perfect view of an absolutely crazy start to the race that left Verstappen completely shocked.
What happened in the Max Verstappen vs 100 go-karters race?
In order to win the race, Verstappen had 30 laps to overtake the 100 drivers hoping to make it until the end of the race to say they had beat the F1 legend.

YouTubers Zac Alsop, Pieface, Bella James, StuntPegg as well as Love Island star Amber Gill and several other content creators and personalities were among the drivers racing against Verstappen on Wednesday.
And, unsurprisingly it didn't take long for things to go completely wrong as Verstappen passed at least 20 karts before they had even made it past the first corner of Silverstone.
But, as Verstappen flew past his competitors, carnage soon followed, dozens of cars crashing into each other, going off onto the grass or doing complete 180 turns right in the middle of the track.
So much so, that the F1 star was forced to take evasive action and join some other drivers in the grass to ensure he didn't crash and end his race early.
"I have no idea what's going on, oh my God! It's carnage," Verstappen said on his radio.
However, Verstappen kept his cool and quickly found himself in 37th before the first lap even finished.
Max Verstappen v 100 race directors forced into major change mid-race
As the race progressed it became abundantly clear that it wouldn't be long until Verstappen found himself competing at the front of the pack, forcing race directors to implement new rules to keep the race competitive.
Firstly, water was placed over one sector of the Silverstone track in an attempt to make the chaotic race even more dramatic.
And once that was clear that wasn't going to do anything to stop Verstappen's charge, race directors decided to make another major move as he entered the top five in the race.
During the race, drivers were allowed to use a 'fast lap' at any time in the first 15 laps of the race, taking a shortcut on the track and to gain some ground back on Verstappen.
But with Verstappen close to victory long before the half-way point, it was decided that the rest of the top five were allowed to use a second 'fast lap' to further get ahead of the F1 champion.
Ahead of the race, Verstappen was also supposed to have a 'fast lap' available during the last 15 laps, but this was quickly taken away from him.
Despite all of their efforts, Verstappen eventually proved to be too much for the remaining drivers, as the Dutchman won the race after just laps and 35 minutes total race team, 40 minutes less than the maximum team given to him.
"Well, that was simply lovely, wasn't it?" Verstappen said immediately after winning the race.
"I really thought my first lap would be a disaster but I got helped out with people getting super excited and crashing," he added.
Before jokingly claiming it was the best win of his career so far.
Dutch Formula One journalist Jacky Martens finished second in the race, with Red Bull ICE build technician Lewis Osler coming in third after a fierce battle across the top three.
Speaking to the rest of the podium, Verstappen said: "Guys you have to watch the first lap back, it was crazy!"
