New odds emerge on Jamie Vardy's next club after leaving Leicester as striker tipped to make sensational move

The Leicester legend's next destination remains unknown

A shock move could be on the cards for Jamie Vardy, according to the latest odds on his new club.

Vardy brought his incredible Leicester City career to a close on Sunday, ending with a record of 200 goals in 500 games for the Foxes.

The striker joined Leicester from Fleetwood Town in 2012 and went on to win the Premier League and FA Cup as well as playing in the Champions League and in two major tournaments for England.

After 13 years, Vardy announced that he would be leaving the King Power Stadium and he finished with a goal against Ipswich Town in Leicester's last home fixture of the season.

Vardy believes he has lots left to offer at the age of 38 and has been linked with a whole raft of clubs in the weeks since his announcement.

Apparent suitors include clubs in the Premier League as well as wealthy upstarts Wrexham, newly promoted to the Championship.

The former England international has also attracted attention north of the border, where Ally McCoist tipped him to help Rangers close the gap between themselves and Celtic at the top of the Premiership.

"Something tells me that he has got something organised, whether it is America or another club, I think he will have something organised," McCoist told talkSPORT.

"We were in discussion yesterday, me and my Rangers mates, I would take him in two minutes at Rangers, I really would."

But the latest odds list a move to Scotland at around 10/1 behind any club in Italy, boyhood club Sheffield Wednesday, and Wrexham.

McCoist hinted at the favourite. A transatlantic switch to Major League Soccer can be backed at odds as short as 6/4.

It was revealed last month that Vardy is not on MLS discovery lists, which identify the club that holds first refusal rights on a player from outside MLS.

Clubs can have five players on their discovery lists at any one time but Vardy is understood not to be on any of them, giving him additional freedom should he wish to choose an MLS destination.

Discovery rights don't have to be restrictive; they don't necessarily limit a player's options.

Kevin De Bruyne was on Inter Miami's discovery list but they relinquished his rights earlier this month.
