European giants tipped to sign Jamie Vardy in move that would stun the football world

Jamie Vardy will be a free agent this summer.

Jamie Vardy has been backed to sign for a massive club this summer.

Vardy will leave Leicester City at the end of the season after 13 years at the club.

He's enjoyed a legendary spell at the King Power Stadium, having won the Premier League and the FA Cup.

Vardy enhanced his iconic Leicester reputation after scoring his 200th goal for the club in his side's 2-0 win over Ipswich Town last weekend.

"It's been amazing, it's been a rollercoaster, it really has," he said after the Foxes' win.

"But the good thing is there's been way, way, way more highs [than lows] and I thank everyone. I never thought we'd be in the Champions League, we'd win the league, and we've all been there for a reason."

Several clubs have been linked with Vardy as they look to secure his services on a free transfer, including two Premier League teams.

But Ally McCoist has tipped the 38-year-old to join Rangers, claiming he would take him in 'two minutes' at the Scottish outfit.

"Something tells me that he has got something organised, whether it is America or another club, I think he will have something organised," he said on talkSPORT.

"We were in discussion yesterday, me and my Rangers mates, I would take him in two minutes at Rangers, I really would."

TNT Sports commentator and pundit McCoist spent a large portion of his career at Rangers and is clearly a big fan of the former England international.

Rangers have failed to win the Scottish Premiership title since the 2020/21 season, with Celtic winning four league titles on the bounce.

The standards at Rangers have dropped in recent years and the transfer of Vardy would raise them right back up considering his experience and determination.

The Gers have the likes of Oscar Cortes, Cyriel Dessers, Rabbi Matondo and Hamza Igamane at their disposal in the forward position.

The addition of Vardy would be a big upgrade from their current options.

Rangers are currently without a manager after it was confirmed Barry Ferguson, who replaced Philippe Clement, won't be staying on beyond his interim spell.
