A former Liverpool player has changed his name upon completing a transfer to another Premier League club.
All 20 Premier League teams have now played their first game of the 2025/26 campaign.
As ever, early-season games don’t always give a true reflection of how the next 37 matches will play out.
Some teams will hope to add to their ranks ahead of the September 1 deadline, with Liverpool currently leading the way, having spent £293m on seven players - Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Hugo Ekitike, Armin Pecsi, Freddie Woodman and Giorgi Mamardashvili.

However, the Reds have also recouped a reported £190m in funds from the sales of Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Jarell Quansah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Tyler Morton, Nat Phillips, and Caoimhin Kelleher.

19-year-old Scottish winger Ben Doak signed for Bournemouth for an initial £20m and a further £5m in add-ons on Monday, signing a five-year contract at the south coast club.
And the club he plays for is not the only thing that has changed, as the Scotland international has also chosen to ‘change’ his name.

The winger, who spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Championship outfit Middlesbrough during which he contributed with three goals and seven assists, now wishes to be known as Ben Gannon Doak, to reflect both his parents’ names.
Gannon Doak leaves Liverpool having made ten appearances for the Reds since arriving from Celtic in 2021.
"I'm buzzing to be here,” Gannon Doak said via club media after completing his move to the Cherries.

“I feel like it's the right time for me, and it's a great opportunity to play regular football at the highest level. It feels like the perfect fit.
"The team play very nice football. It's fast and it really suits my game, so I felt like I couldn't say no to the chance to play here."
Tiago Pinto, the club's Head of Football Operations, said: "Ben is an exciting young talent who has shown his quality at the highest level despite his age.
"He brings pace and energy that will fit our model well, and we're thoroughly looking forward to helping him fulfil his potential at AFC Bournemouth.

"We're pleased to bring another player into the club during this window as we continue to reinvest in the squad."
Gannon Doak, who has six caps for Scotland, could make his debut during Bournemouth’s home match against Wolves on Saturday.
