One senior Liverpool player was not present in Darwin Nunez’s goodbye photograph which was posted on social media.
Nunez, 26, joined Saudi outfit Al Hilal in a transfer worth around £46.3 million, bringing his three-year spell in the Premier League to an end.
The Uruguayan contributed with 40 goals and 26 assists in 143 appearances for Liverpool, helping them win the Premier League last season.
Several players, including Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jarell Quansah, Luis Diaz, and Caoimhin Kelleher, have left the Reds this summer, while seven players - Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Hugo Ekitike, Armin Pecsi, Freddie Woodman and Giorgi Mamardashvili – have arrived at Anfield.

Since Nunez’s departure was confirmed, several Liverpool players have weighed in with warm messages.

On Wednesday, Mohamed Salah posted: “I consider myself lucky to have had you as a teammate and friend. You were always very real and brought so much good energy wherever you went.
“You made us laugh and showed heart in everything you did. You will be missed, and I wish you the best in your new club.”

Then on Thursday, Nunez said his goodbyes at Liverpool's AXA Training Centre and was part of a group photo alongside the Liverpool first-team squad.
Salah, Wirtz, captain Virgil van Dijk and various members of the backroom staff could be spotted in the photograph, but there was one notable admission.
Defender Joe Gomez, who recently returned to training following an Achilles injury, was not part of the group – although he may have been otherwise occupied concerning his fitness.
Gomez, 28, left Liverpool’s pre-season tour of Asia to return to Merseyside for treatment in July following a string of injury issues in recent times.

The 28-year-old missed the friendly games against AC Milan, Yokohama F. Marinos and Athletic Club as well as last Sunday’s Community Shield clash against Crystal Palace before returning to light training on Wednesday.
Slot, whose Liverpool side will take on Bournemouth in the Premier League opener on Friday, spoke about the England international’s fitness in a press conference on Thursday.
“With Joe [Gomez], I have to make a decision on that,” Slot said.

“He missed a lot of pre-season and only trained twice. There is a possibility that he might be on the bench, but I have to look at the numbers and who we’re gonna take.”
