There is mixed news on the transfer front for Liverpool, with reports of a deal happening and another looking less likely to take place.
The Premier League champions have been extremely active in the transfer market, bringing in Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez to strengthen Arne Slot's side.
The Reds also made a £110 million bid for Alexander Isak but saw the offer rejected by Newcastle, who are adamant he will not be sold despite the unsettled Swede wanting out.
But they are still looking to continue adding to their options, with their backline an area of priority.

Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi has been a top target for Liverpool, who have been left a little light in central defence after they sold Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen.
Fans got excited when they saw Virgil van Dijk's priceless reaction to Slot shaking hands with Guehi in the tunnel prior to the Community Shield at Wembley.
Talk of a move happening this summer accelerated in recent times but Sky Sports have issued an update on the situation.

According to a report from Wednesday night, Liverpool are still in talks for the England international and remain firm favourites for his signature.
However, it's said that Liverpool do not want to overpay for the former Chelsea man and the two parties are not on the same page in regards to a valuation.
As it stands, he is more likely to stay with Palace for their first season in Europe and leave on a free transfer next summer when his contract at Selhurst Park expires.
Guehi has not pushed for a move even though he would be happy to speak to Liverpool if they agreed a fee with Palace.

Liverpool close in on new £26 million signing
While they may not add Guehi to the ranks, Liverpool are set to welcome another arrival to Merseyside. According to widespread media reports, Parma's 18-year-old centre-back Giovanni Leoni is poised to join for a fee in the region of £26.9 million.
As per Fabrizio Romano, Leoni will head straight into Slot's squad as opposed to being loaned out and Parma have agreed to a sell-on clause.
