Liverpool may have already made up their mind about Arne Slot's future as manager following the 2-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain.

On Wednesday night, Liverpool arrived at the Parc des Princes for a Champions League quarter-final clash that could define their season.

Having been knocked out of the FA Cup following a dismal 4-0 loss to Manchester City, the pressure on Liverpool manager Slot was higher than ever heading into the match against PSG.

But the Dutchman was was unable to alleviate some of this pressure in Paris as his side lost 2-0 to the reigning European champions, leaving Liverpool with a difficult task in the second leg at Anfield next week.

However, before the match at Anfield kicks off, it appears that Liverpool may have already made their mind up about sacking Slot, with reports claiming that his position is becoming increasingly untenable.

As reported by The Athletic, Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group want to give Slot the chance to improve what has been a dismal season in which the club has now lost 17 matches, the most since the 2014/15 season.

But, the report adds that in order for Slot to keep his position, it's now Champions League 'or bust,' leaving the Dutch manager with just 90 minutes to save his job next week.

Speaking ahead of the match, Slot brushed off questions regarding the pressure over his future, noting that Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are among the hardest teams to play in the world right now.

He said: “I don’t think as a manager you think about what can happen, and if that ramps up the pressure, towards me or towards anyone else.

"I think we are here because, and I think what is similar between Man City and Paris Saint Germain that for me from open play, they’re the most difficult teams to play against.

"I said today to the boys [Paris Saint Germain] they are almost like a washing machine. They just run everywhere but controlled and knowing from each other what to do."

Before Slot gets the chance to save his Liverpool career, his side will face Fulham at Anfield in a Premier League clash on Saturday afternoon.
