Liverpool have already identified their next big transfer target after completing a deal for Florian Wirtz, but he's going to cost a serious amount of money.

After winning the Premier League title with win over Tottenham Hotspur in April, Liverpool have seemingly been hard at preparing for a busy summer transfer window.

With Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz both travelling to Liverpool to complete their moves this week, attention will now turn to whoever will be next to come through the doors of Anfield.

Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez has been heavily linked with the Reds, but a new report has claimed that another massive name that has emerged as Liverpool's next top target, despite his breathtaking price tag.

According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool are now seriously in the race for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike and see him as the next big target to come from the Bundesliga.

The report claims that talks about a potential summer move have already taken place, with both Arne Slot and sporting director Michael Edwards keen on completing a deal in the coming weeks.

Frankfurt are yet to receive an official offer for the 22-year-old, but CEO Markus Krosche is said to be demanding at least €100million (£83.8m) to part ways with his star player.

Should Liverpool be willing to pay that, then this summer window will be by far the club's biggest ever, with both Frimpong and Wirtz expected to also demand relatively large transfer fees.

Although he is believed to be valued at nearly double the amount, Liverpool have been able to secured Frimpong's signature for just £29.5m thanks to a release clause in his Bayer Leverkusen contract.

Meanwhile, Wirtz will likely cost Liverpool around €150m (£127m) and, if Liverpool continue their pursuit of Kerkez, he could cost them another £40m.

This would take Liverpool's total spend for the summer to around £280m, which is more than double their previous biggest window in the summer before the 2018/19 window.

Of course, this huge number will be offset by the sales of several of Liverpool's current squad, with the likes of Darwin Nunez, Caoimhin Kelleher and Kostas Tsimikas all linked with a move away.
