Boxing fans were angry Williams was allowed to fight.

American lightweight Emanuel Williams certainly made an impression on his professional boxing in 2018 - but it was for all the wrong reasons.

The Louisiana-based fighter looked far from confident in the opening round as he came up against fellow American fighter John Rincon, who was also making his anticipated debut on Top Rank Boxing's preliminary card.

Unfortunately for the 22-year-old, it was a disaster from start to finish as Williams looked almost parody-like in the ring.

Rincon connected with a few punches, including a far from remarkable body shot KO in the opening round, but it was the actions of Williams that brought concern among boxing fans.

It might just go down in history as one of the most bizarre four-round lightweight fights of all time.

Have you ever seen a 135lb bout like this one? He's just punching mid-air for the most part, while trying to defend himself in truly bizarre fashion.

Let's hope Williams can improve from here on out, but this bout has certainly raised questions among fans, with one outlet questioning whether he is the worst professional boxer in the world.

Rincon hardly broke sweat in what will go down as the easiest victory of his life.

Since his debut loss, Williams has lost a further three fights in his career, including defeats against David Bravo, Saben Cura and Brandon Douglas, according to BoxRec.
