How much The Rock is getting paid during stunning WWE return

The Rock, a member of the TKO board, made a triumphant return to ring with a WrestleMania 40 win.

The Rock is getting paid handsomely during his stunning run with WWE.

The 51-year-old joined the board of directors in the TKO group back in January, signing a huge deal "that provides for his promotional, licensing, and other services".

Part of the arrangement included full ownership of 'The Rock' trademark and then shortly after emerged that the People's Champion would be returning to the ring.

The initial plan was for him to face dominant champion Roman Reigns for the WWE undisputed title in the biggest WrestleMania main event of all-time.

However WWE forced into a pivot and instead back-to-back Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes received a WrestleMania rematch against Reigns and a second chance to finish his story.

The Rock transitioned into a bad guy 'Final Boss' character which has seen him produce some of his very best career work.

He pinned Rhodes in a star-studded tag-team main event on night one of WrestleMania 40 as he and real-life cousin Reigns beat the American Nightmare and WWE world champion Seth Rollins.

Rock did not miss a step and produced a sensational performance in his first proper match since 2013.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, The Rock earned $30 million upon joining the TKO board and agreeing to return to action.

The box office sensation is able to earn much bigger paychecks from various Hollywood film projects but his passion and love for the professional wrestling industry has brought him back to the squared circle.

"There might be," The Rock said in the post-show press conference when asked if he envisions further matches.

"I can’t elaborate more on that, but there might be. We’ll see.”

Meanwhile, Triple H extended his thanks to his former rival for coming back into the fold and contributing in a huge way.

He said: "I want to say thanks to him. He doesn't need to be here.

"The thing that has bonded us is our passion for this. No matter the other things going on, we both understand that deep inside his DNA this is what he loves, and the same for me."
