WWE fans spot the moment The Rock avoided serious injury which could’ve ended his career

The Rock was lucky to escape unharmed.

WWE fans have spotted the moment The Rock almost suffered a serious injury that would have ended his career.

The Rock made a triumphant return to WWE at WrestleMania on Saturday night, eight years after his last match.

'The Final Boss' joined forces with cousin Roman Reigns for a star-studded tag team match against Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes, and the event certainly did not disappoint.

The scene was set when The Rock made an electrifying entrance at Lincoln Financial Field, and the drama only ramped up when he was accidentally speared by teammate Reigns.

However, the match might not have got to that stage with The Rock fortunate not to suffer a serious injury.

In the opening minutes of the match, the 51-year-old delivered a deliberate low blow to Rollins who was already lying on the ground.

As he did so The Rock lost his balance, and as he stumbled away he appeared to twist his leg at an awkward angle, putting a huge amount of strain on his left knee.

Luckily he was unhurt, but fans noticed the incident and couldn't quite believe how close he came to tearing his antierio cruciate ligament (ACL).

At 51 years old, such an injury would surely have ended The Rock's wrestling career.

"I can't imagine his career going down due to that incident," one fan commented on X, while another argued the incident showed that "The Rock needs a stunt double."

Others were concerned for the legendary wrestler's health, saying "I thought he popped his ACL ffs" and "He nearly blew his leg out."

The Rock managed to recover from the blunder to hit Rhodes with a Rock Bottom, before pulling off a People's Elbow to secure the win.

The victory for The Rock and Reigns means Sunday night's title fight between Reigns and Rhodes will be contested under Bloodline Rules.
