Huge WWE star gets pinned for the first time at Night of Champions as fans left furious

Fans have voiced their discontent after a huge WWE star was pinned for the first time in his career in a shock result with controversial circumstances.

The WWE Night of Champions took place last night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and there was plenty of wrestling drama on show.

Cody Rhodes defeated Randy Orton to claim the 2025 King of the Ring Final, while Rhea Ripley beat Raquel Rodriguez in a Street Fight match.

Jade Cargill defeated Asuka to claim the 2025 Queen of the Ring Final, and Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena beat CM Punk.

But it was one encounter in particular that got fans talking after a family dispute.

Solo Sikoa defeated his cousin Jacob Fatu to claim the United States Championship, as the latter's reign with the belt ended after only 70 days after he has beaten LA Knight to win the title at WrestleMania 41.

The fight had been going Fatu's way, but then there was interference from JC Mateo to distract the referee, while Tonga Loa struck Fatu and the debuting Tala Tonga was also involved.

Eventually, Sikoa performed a Spike on Fatu to become the new United States Champion, in so doing inflicting Fatu's first official pinfall in the WWE in 43 matches since his debut with the franchise last year at Money in the Bank.

Triple H, now the WWE's chief content officer, took to social media to react to the controversial encounter after the interventions and said: "By any means necessary."

After his victory, Sikoa said: "If anybody wants to take a shot at the new champ, they can step up. I'm tired. I've been giving and giving and giving - now it's my turn to take and that's exactly what I did tonight.

"I took out the wolf and I took his title."

WWE fans have had their say on social media to the controversial outcome of the match and it's safe to say they are not happy with the result.

One said: "I think I speak for EVERYONE when I say that WE wanted JACOB to RETAIN."

Another posted: "It's says a lot when it took 4 of them."

And one fan simply said: He does not deserve it at all."

One WWE supporter said: "Jacob Fatu was the one who was supposed to win."

Another fan wrote: "I wanted Jacob to win, he's a much better and skilled wrestler!"

And one said: "Solo is a freaking paper champion and a cheater."
