Bernardo Silva Refused To Clap Liverpool Players During Awkward 'Guard Of Honour'

He was having none of it.

Manchester City gave newly-crowned Premier League champions Liverpool a guard of honour at the Etihad on Thursday afternoon, but plenty of people spotted Bernardo Silva's activity during the gesture - or lack of it.

The Portuguese attacking midfielder, who came on as a substitute in City's emphatic 4-0 win, appeared to refuse to participate in the round of applause for Jurgen Klopp's side before kick-off.

As the likes of Phil Foden and Nicolas Otamendi clapped beside him, Silva just stared at the opposition and sipped his drink before quickly leaving the scene.

You can see footage from the Etihad stands below.

Silva's actions before kick-off certainly didn't go unnoticed. Here's how social media reacted to the incident.

Just a week after Manchester City's defeat to Chelsea, which in-turn crowned Liverpool as Premier League champions, a completely different City side turned up at the Etihad.

Goals from Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden and an Alex Oxlade-Chamberlan own goal sealed a dominant 4-0 win for the home side as Jurgen Klopp's side suffered another disappointing result away from Anfield.

After the match, Sky Sports' interviewer Shreeves spoke to the German manager about the loss and it's fair to say he wasn't happy.

Thoughts on Silva's actions before kick-off? Can Liverpool win the Premier League again next season?
