Nottingham Forest are expected to appoint Oliver Glasner as their next permanent manager, and the deal is set to go down in history.
It was confirmed earlier in the week that Vitor Pereira had been sacked after it was revealed that he had a secret clause in his contract.
The Portuguese manager was appointed manager of the club in February following the sacking of Sean Dyche, and he managed to ensure they maintained their Premier League status.
However, after just five months, Pereira has been sacked by Nottingham Forest despite taking the club to the Europa League semi-finals, the first time that Forest had reached a European semi-final since 1984.

The decision to sack Pereira appeared to come out of the blue, but it makes sense if they wished to appoint Glasner, a manager who has won silverware in consecutive seasons with Crystal Palace, first an FA Cup in 2025 before the 2026 Europa Conference League.
It has now become public knowledge that the Portuguese manager had a clause in his contract that allowed Forest to pull the trigger and sack the manager at a moment’s notice, but they had to do so by June 30.
Clearly aware of this fact, Forest are claimed to have informed their manager, via email, that he had been sacked at 11.58pm last night, just two minutes before the clause expired.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Glasner is set to become the next permanent manager of the two-time European Cup winners, with the German set to become the highest-paid manager in the club’s history.
The Sun are reporting that the former Crystal Palace manager will receive a deal worth £13M per year, making him one of the best-paid coaches in the Premier League.
While he was the most successful manager to have ever coached Crystal Palace, it will take an incredible tenure at the City Ground to match the achievements of Brian Clough, who delivered an English top flight, two European Cups, and four League Cups to Nottingham Forest.
