Sean Dyche has already made his feelings clear on three Nottingham Forest players, with the Englishman set to replace Ange Postecoglou at the City Ground.

Dyche has been out of work since he was sacked by Everton in January 2025, following two years in charge at Goodison Park.

During his time at former club Burnley, he developed a successful, disciplined side, guiding them into Europe for the first time since 1967.

Now, he looks set to take charge at Nottingham Forest, with an official announcement expected on Monday.

Dyche will become Forest's third coach of the season, following Nuno Espirito Santo and the disastrous 39-day reign of Postecoglou.

Despite spending more than £180 million over the summer following a seventh-placed finish last season, Forest have made a terrible start.

They sit in the relegation zone with just one win from their opening eight league games.

Dyche's priority will be ensuring Premier League survival, but Forest will also be expected to perform strongly in the UEFA Europa League.

His appointment will be particularly welcomed by Chris Wood, who had fallen out of favour with Postecoglou.

Dyche knows the New Zealander well, having signed him for Burnley in 2017 for a then club-record fee of £15 million.

Wood went on to score 53 goals in 165 appearances for the Clarets, before joining Newcastle for £25 million in 2022.

Last season was his best campaign to date, finishing the season with 20 league goals, but he has managed just two so far this year.

Dyche's arrival could also be good news for Neco Williams.

The full-back was on Dyche's radar in 2021, while the Welshman was still at Liverpool.

Burnley wanted to sign Williams on loan, before he joined Forest for six months in 2022.

Williams eventually signed for Forest in the summer.

The 24-year-old has become a regular, recently signing a new deal that will keep him at the City Ground until 2029.

Meanwhile, another familiar name to Dyche will be Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Back in 2023, Everton were linked with a move for the winger, with Chelsea demanding £8 million.

Hudson-Odoi instead joined Forest that summer for less than £5 million, but he has struggled for consistency, scoring 14 times in 81 appearances.

After Postecelogu's disastrous time in charge, the Forest squad will hope that Dyche can provide some much-needed stability.

And with several familiar faces, Dyche will hope that he can make a winning start on October 23, when they host Porto in the Europa League.
