Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has re-watched every single one of Manchester United's games during his tenure as manager.

Solskjaer, who scored 126 goals as a player for United, spent just short of three years in charge after initially being named as interim boss following Jose Mourinho's sacking.

He managed 168 games in total, winning 91, drawing 37 and losing 40 to give him a win percentage of 54%.

In November 2021, Solskjaer was sacked by the Red Devils after a dismal 4-1 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road made it five losses from 12 in the Premier League - and left United in lowly ninth position.

Over a year on and The Athletic claims Solskjaer has been analysing his reign at United to the nth degree, having watched all 168 matches he was in charge of.

He will have no doubt enjoyed revisiting the dramatic last-gasp win over Paris Saint-Germain in March 2019, when Rio Ferdinand proclaimed that United "are back".

But OGS did also suffer heavy defeats against Liverpool, Spurs, Everton and Manchester City in his stint as manager at Old Trafford, with the second-placed finish in 2020/21 quickly becoming a distant memory.

There were also forgettable results against lowly Huddersfield and Cardiff as United bottled the chance to achieve Champions' League football in 2019.

Solskjaer lost a number of semi-finals in various competitions and when United got to the Europa League final in Gdansk, they eventually lost on penalties to Villarreal.

They had dropped into the competition after being eliminated from the 2020/21 Champions' League group stages.

Although he didn't win any trophies, it's claimed Solskjaer was of the opinion he was "building something special" after signing the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane.

Solskjaer has largely kept a low profile since being relieved of his duties at United, turning down managerial and punditry offers and learning to sail back in Norway.

But the former Cardiff City and Molde manager is now said to have a "burning desire" to get back into management and has been watching plenty of European games.

When his sacking was announced, Solskjaer, who negotiated a £7.5 million payout after signing a recent contract extension, gave a surprise emotional farewell interview.

"As I've said to them this morning as well, trust yourselves, you know we're better than this," Solskjaer said, revealing what he told the players as he said his goodbyes.

"We've not been able to show it but go out, chest out, enjoy being a Manchester United player, Champions League, the biggest stage.

"If and when you win the game, you're through to the next round, Michael [Carrick] is going to be in charge. Michael, I have the utmost respect [for], I love Michael to bits.

"I'm becoming emotional now because he's top... they'll be fine. I'll watch them and support them."
