Micah Richards poem for Kylian Mbappe live on-air goes viral in hilarious CBS Sports moment

Micah Richards wrote a poem for Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe live on CBS Sports, and their interaction has gone viral on social media.

Mbappe became the joint fifth-highest scorer in Champions League history on Tuesday night as Real Madrid clinched a 2-1 victory over Inter Milan.

The thunderous strike was already the 27-year-old's fifth goal of the campaign after scoring four in LaLiga, as he continues to display his world-class talents under Jose Mourinho.

Micah Richards' poem for Kylian Mbappe goes viral

Immediately after the game, the France international was invited into the CBS Sports studio for an interview with Kate Abdo, Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards.

Mbappe instantly stole Richards for claiming he was his "favourite" of the panel after playfully joking about his "love" for the French superstar on air for years.

The former Manchester City defender even pulled out a piece of paper with a poem on it to read to the striker.

“Speed like lightning, finish so clean," Richards began.

"Kylian Mbappé, the football machine. From Paris to Madrid, he’s chasing his dream.

"A star on the pitch, the King of the scene.”

He clearly stole Mbappé's heart with those kind words, as Real's No. 10 couldn't stop smiling, while the rest of the studio could only laugh at Richards' reaction.

Kylian Mbappe waxes lyrical over Jose Mourinho

Real bounced back from their disappointing 1-0 defeat to Real Betis over the weekend by producing a much-improved performance in the Champions League against Inter.

Mourinho would have been annoyed to his 100 per cent record in LaLiga after four match days, especially with Barcelona looking imperious under Hansi Flick once more.

But it appears that the Portuguese tactician has already won over the majority of his first-team squad, including Mbappe, who lavished praise on his new manager on Tuesday night.

“José Mourinho makes you feel alive," Mbappe said. "He makes you feel special. He is a guy who puts a lot of pressure and high intensity in training.

"He talks a lot with the players, and we know what he wants from us, what he expects from us.

"When a coach gives you that confidence and that hunger, you do not want to disappoint him, and you want to give your best.”

Likewise, Mourinho has returned the compliment by waxing lyrical over his world-class forward, putting him up there with the best players he's coached across his managerial career.

"I rank him right up there among the players I’ve coached," Mourinho confessed.

"I don’t like comparisons... I’ve had players like Ronaldo Nazario. But Kylian is right up there! Kylian is incredible."

Mbappe has certainly proven his worth as arguably the best player on the planet since joining Real Madrid two years ago with 91 goals in 108 appearances for Los Blancos.

Mourinho now has the pleasure of coaching the Frenchman as he enters the prime of his career, and he hopes the forward will fire them to domestic and Champions League glory come the end of the season.
