AC Milan continued their summer splurge with arguably the signing of the window so far by sealing the transfer of Andre Silva, and the player who's being tipped for greatness has responded to Cristiano Ronaldo's statement.

While Ronaldo spearheads the Portuguese attack and overall team, the European champions are in good hands once the Real Madrid star does eventually call time on his illustrious playing career.

Though speaking about his future, the 32-year-old reiterated his stance on continuing for at least another five years.

"I thank the people at Real Madrid, the city of Madrid, my colleagues and everyone who helped me get to this point," he told Marca.

"As I've always said, it is the club of my heart and this is a unique moment in my life, to renew for five years. But it won't be the last contract, that's clear, because in the next five years I will continue doing the same."

After leading his national side to their first international honour, last year, Ronaldo will be seeking to add another in a few weeks as the enter the Confederation Cup.

It'll be one of his last international honours he'll contest for, but Ronaldo has already identified the successor to his heir.

"When I retire, Portugal will be in good hands because they have already found a great striker: Andre Silva," he said to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 21-year-old has agreed a big money switch from Porto to AC Milan following a prolific season in his native league.

Silva bagged an impressive 21 goals in all competitions. Yet despite the huge complement from the four time Ballon d'Or winner, the budding talent remains 'calm.'

"I am calm," Silva said to Milan News.

While brilliantly detailing his road to greatness which includes him understanding the graft he needs to put in while working hard to prove Ronaldo's words come to fruition.

"I have a lot of work to do before I can express certain thoughts. No [I have not spoken to Ronaldo about the move]. I want to work hard to get closer to the words he has afforded me."
