Lamine Yamal’s family have reportedly been given the green light after they ‘requested’ special privileges from Barcelona.
It’s fair to say that 18-year-old Yamal is one of the most talented players in world football.
Despite his age, the Barcelona winger is arguably one of Spain’s and his club’s most important players, given the fact that he helped the nation win Euro 2024 and was integral in Barca winning two La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey, and one Spanish Super Cup since his 2023 debut.
And like most other high-profile footballers, fans have taken a keen interest in the player’s personal life.

Yamal’s parents have both been of interest to the press and the public, with his father, Mounir Nasraoui, being one of his son’s most vocal supporters since his emergence.
After the 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony, during which Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembele pipped Yamal to the coveted award, Mounir slammed the result and claimed his son was “the greatest” during an interview with El Chiringuito.

"It’s not just because he’s my son, but because he’s the best player in the world,” Mounir said.

“Lamine is Lamine… we have to say that something strange has happened here.
"Next year it’s ours. Next year, the Ballon d’Or will be Spanish."
Moroccan-born Mounir has been known to work as a building painter in the construction trade.
As for Yamal’s mother, Sheila Ebana, who was born in Equatorial Guinea, she has been known to have previously worked as a waitress.

However, given their son now earns just shy of €40 million [£33.5 million] a year before tax, the family’s financial future is secured.

Aside from Yamal’s hefty wage – around £644,000 per week – the family has been afforded further privileges by Barcelona, according to journalist Romain Molina.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, which boasts 408,000 subscribers, Molina claimed that private jets, special photo opportunities and special favours are among the requests coming from Yamal’s family, with the club supposedly almost always saying ‘Yes’ in case of offending them.

Molina claimed that the requests often come from Yamal’s ‘entourage’ rather than the player himself.
Yamal is currently out injured with a groin issue and was forced to withdraw from the Spain squad for the October internationals against Georgia and Bulgaria.
A club statement posted on October 3 said Yamal’s “recovery time is estimated to be 2-3 weeks”, meaning he could return for Barca’s La Liga clash with Girona on October 18.
