Graeme Souness Criticised After Rudely Interrupting Pundit Alex Scott

The Sky Sports pundits were discussing the defending during the first half of the Leicester City vs Manchester United game on Sunday.

Graeme Souness isn't everyone's favourite Sky Sports pundit, just ask Paul Pogba, and the former Liverpool player came in for lots of criticism after interrupting Alex Scott at half time of Manchester United's win over Leicester City on Sunday.

For around 18 months Graeme Souness has constantly been in the headlines for his hatred of Paul Pogba. The Manchester United midfielder has barely been able to do anything right in Souness' eyes.

Sure the Frenchman has had his difficulties at Old Trafford, especially earlier this season, but even when he's had good performances the Sky Sports pundit has been all over him like a fat kid on a cupcake.

Souness was in the studio once again for United's game on Sunday but after Pogba created the goal that gave the Red Devils their lead the 65 year old needed someone else to have a go at and he picked fellow pundit Alex Scott.

First he interrupted the former Arsenal Ladies player before flippantly dismissing her point.

Speaking about the defending Scott said, "I think teams are now playing a low block with a purpose, to get them on a counter-attack. It's become a common theme this season. A lot of teams that are playing that low block are willing to have less possession and are hitting teams on the counter-attack..."

Interrupting Souness said, "What is a low block? This modern terminology..."

Scott replied, "Defensively, "[teams are] prepared to sit back with a four - maybe even a five - a solid wall..."

Before Souness dismissed his colleague answering, "Okay. Defending deep."

The exchange didn't go down too well on social media:

There's nothing wrong with the pundit not knowing the term 'low block,' it's a pretty modern phrase after all, but it's the way he deals with it that is ridiculous from the Scotsman.

Scott has proven herself to be a brilliant pundit and was given much acclaim during last summer's World Cup when she worked for the BBC.

Gives us more Scott and less angry Scot.
