A confident sports fan put £20 on three major events and came away with winnings of over £20,000.

It's safe to say that this summer has been amazing for sports fans happy to sit on front of the TV all day and watch the world's best athletes compete.

In recent weeks there have been tennis and golf tournaments, big combat sports events and, of course, the World Cup across North America.

With so many big sporting events taking place, fans have no doubt been busy crafting crazy accumulators, no doubt to varying success.

But there's one fan who put together one massive ten-fold acca, branded 'The ultimate sports acca' by SkyBet, putting together bets from three different sports and they were so confident that they staked £20 on it.

To start off, the punter backed Spain to beat Belgium in their World Cup quarter-final on July 10, with Mikel Merino's last-minute goal stopping the bet from failing before it even got underway.

Next up, the fan placed a series of bets on Conor McGregor's comeback card at UFC 329 in Las Vegas, picking a winner in four fights on the card.

On the early prelims, the punter correctly backed Damian Pinas to win his fight against César Almeida, with the Surinamese fighter doing so with a first round knockout.

In the featured prelim, he backed former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker to successfully come through his light-heavyweight debut with a win over Nikita Krylov.

Later in the card the punter successfully picked the winner in both the co-main and main events of UFC 329, backing both Paddy Pimblett and Max Holloway to secure victories over Benoit Saint-Denis and McGregor.

With the World Cup quarter-final and UFC 329 out of the way, the acca now relied on several golfers competing at the Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club.

Scotland's own Robert MacIntyre was one of four golfers backed to finish in the top 20 at the last event before The Open Championship this weekend, alongside Chris Gotterup and England's Tommy Fleetwood and Matt Fitzpatrick.

Finally, a top 10 finish at the Scottish Open from Rory McIlroy was the final win in the acca, meaning that, with all 10 selections coming through, the punter won a massive £21,303.99.

That represents a profit of £21,283,99, not to mention bragging rights for life.

Reacting to the acca, one user wrote on X: "That acca is pure chaos. Insane payout tho."

While another added: "That acca is wild. Congrats to the guy who turned 20 into over 21k."

And one frustrated fan claimed: "This has annoyed me on another level because I would’ve backed all of these."
