Conor McGregor conspiracy theory emerges after Max Holloway loss and it could explain everything

An MMA journalist has shared alleged details on Conor McGregor's future plans following his brutal knee injury.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, former two-weight UFC champion McGregor returned to the octagon for the first time in five years to face former foe Max Holloway.

After his last UFC fight against Dustin Poirier ended with the Irishman breaking his leg, many MMA fans questioned if we would ever see McGregor fight again.

However, a long spell away from the sport, and a course of steroids, McGregor was able to return for UFC 329, assuring fans that he was back to full fitness and ready to make a full comeback.

But, things didn't exactly go to plan for the 37-year-old, as he suffered a fight-ending knee injury just seconds into the fight, with Holloway declared the winner by TKO.

No official update on McGregor's condition has been issued as of yet, but it has widely been speculated by experts and UFC boss Dana White that the injury was an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) tear.

Should this be the case, it could be another year before McGregor fights again, and, according to information from MMA personality David Potter, this is far from ideal for the Irishman's future plans

Potter claims that he has signed a non-disclosure agreement keeping him from saying everything, but McGregor has already decided that he will leave the UFC after fulfilling the final fight on his current deal.

He alleges that McGregor is looking to instead join a 'certain company with a lot of money to spend,' accompanying his post with a photo of the Netflix logo.

Potter adds that the former UFC champion is targeting a boxing fight with a 'certain influencer' scheduled for summer 2027.

Although he doesn't say it directly, Potter is clearly insinuating that McGregor is looking to face Jake Paul in a fight shown live on Netflix, with many of Paul's recent blockbuster bouts shown on the streaming platform.

He further alleges that the UFC is well aware of McGregor's plans and therefore refused to give him 'easy opponents' for his final fights in the organisation.

Instead, he claims the UFC hope to extract all they can from one of their biggest stars with the Holloway one of two huge bouts planned to both make the most money while also 'lowering the stock' of McGregor before he joins another company.

Conor McGregor confirms comeback plans after injury

Since his injury, McGregor has been active on social media sharing his disappointment about the outcome of his comeback fight and addressing rumours that he sustained the injury before entering the octagon.

In his most recent update, the 37-year-old confirmed he would undergo surgery before entering the rehabilitation phase and then making his return for the final fight on his UFC deal.

"Surgery. Prehab. Return to martial arts practice. Go again. Final fight of the contract. Please God!" he wrote as part of a lengthy religious post.

The full post read: "My faith is unconditional and I am thankful I get to prove it!

"My lifestyle changes are permanent and not just until. I am thankful I get to prove it.

"I am in sin city and remain completely devoid of all sin. I will not open that door nor crack its seal! I am already back to collecting wins! In Jesus name I pray!

Church was intense today, my heart is heavy but through Christ my mind is STRONG! I am so grateful to see my family fall more in love with God each day!

"I am a child of God. I am a friend of God. God makes a way for me where there seems to be no way. I am not a victim of my circumstances, I overcome them. God is at work in me to will and to work his good pleasure! My youth is being renewed like the eagles! In Jesus I am thoroughly loved, cherished, adored. I walk in divine health. I live under supernatural protection.

"All things work out for my good!

"All things are possible for me because I am a believer! Surgery. Prehab. Return to martial arts practice. Go again. Final fight of the contract. Please God!

"I trust in You Lord! Show me Your way. Thank You God."
