An Australian referee was heard communicating with VAR on Sunday morning and it's got fans thinking it is the perfect way to use it.

Sydney FC defender Rhyan Grant dived into a Melbourne City player and was booked by the referee.

However, VAR intervened and awarded a red card to the 28-year-old.

But audio was revealed of the chat between the officials and fans think it's a method the Premier League should adopt.

Twitter users commented on the incident after yesterday's use of VAR in England's top flight.

The audio fully breaking down why the card was upgraded offered a fascinating insight into how decisions are made.

It is also easier for fans to understand what's going on rather than being left in limbo for minutes on end.

Saturday's Premier League action was filled with VAR controversy and all the key decisions were harsh.

One which received heavy criticism was ruling Teemu Puuki offside against Spurs last night.

The Finnish international had time his run beautifully to get behind the Spurs defence an nestle home.

But VAR's call to rule him offside had many furious.

If VAR is the way of the future, then you have to think hearing the referees discuss calls is a must.
