Manchester United reportedly rejected a request from Sky Sports involving Roy Keane and Michael Carrick.
On Saturday afternoon, United kicked off the Carrick era with a huge performance against Manchester City at Old Trafford.
Thanks to goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu, the Red Devils came away 2-0 winners.
On the other hand, City were poor as their key players failed to impress; top scorer Erling Haaland was expertly marked out of the match by United's Lisandro Martinez.

It has since been claimed that United rejected a request from Sky Sports ahead of the match at Old Trafford.
According to the Daily Mail, Sky Sports, who were broadcasting the match live, wanted Carrick to do an interview with the studio panel, which included Keane.
Recently, Keane labelled Carrick's wife as 'a big mouth'. He said on the Stick to Football podcast: "His wife can always come in [if Carrick doesn't do well], cause she's got a bit of a big mouth sometimes. She's probably doing the team talk."

Back in 2014, Mrs Carrick slammed Keane after he had criticised her husband's interview following a defeat by Olympiakos.
She wrote: "Roy Keane what a **** will say anything to provoke a reaction."
Carrick reportedly 'brushed aside' Keane's latest comments during his pre-derby press conference. But Sky's request 'was met with short shrift by United officials'.
In the end, Gary Neville was tasked with speaking to Carrick ahead of kick-off.

SPORTbible has contacted Manchester United and Sky Sports for comment.
Looking ahead, Carrick's Red Devils will be back in Premier League action this weekend when they take on leaders Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking after the win over City, Carrick said: "It was a very special day but I'm not getting carried away. It's one game and it's really important we don't get carried away. It needs to be a regular feeling, that level of performance needs to be consistently what we're getting.
"It's a fantastic result and there is an element of soaking it up and enjoying it but it's definitely not enough and never enough. If you look at the result, we had three days to work on it and we've got to keep building on that."
