Manchester United appear to have made their decision about sacking Ruben Amorim, while a clear favourite to replace him has emerged
At the San Mames stadium in Bilbao, United suffered perhaps their biggest defeat the season on Wednesday night as they lost 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final.
Heading into the match, both both Spurs manager Ange Postecoglu and United boss Amorim knew that it was possible that they could lose their jobs should they fail to bring home the Europa League trophy.

Following United's loss, it remains to be seen if INEOS chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe will make the decision to part ways with the Portuguese boss.
However, should he decide that enough is enough, there is a clear favourite to take over in the Old Trafford dugout.
Since taking over from former boss Erik ten Hag in November, Amorim has only won six league games, drawing six and losing 13.

And according bookmakers talkSPORT BET, former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri is the heavy favourite to replace Amorim should he be dismissed ahead of next season.
Off the back of a spectacular win over Manchester City in the FA Cup final, Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner is the second favourite to take the job at United.
Former United manager and Premier League legend Jose Mourinho has previsouly been linked with a return to Old Trafford, but it now appears that this is off the table.

However, it would seem that United have already decided that they will keep their faith in Amorim and keep him in charge, with Ratcliffe said to have been impressed with the Portuguese boss thus far.
It is believed that the only reason why Amorim wouldn't be in charge at United next season would be if he makes the decision to walk away.
United welcome Aston Villa to Old Trafford for the final match of the season in a match that, should they lose, would see them finish the season on 39 points, a tally which would been enough to send them down in three Premier League seasons.
