Manchester City secured a victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford to maintain their perfect start to this Premier League campaign.
Enzo Maresca and 10-men secured all three points against their bitter rivals in the Manchester derby through an Erling Haaland strike; however, the game was not without controversy.
Phil Foden received a red card in the first half before Haaland scored an offside goal that had been ruled offside before being controversially overturned by VAR, which resulted in a victory for the visitors.
Following this win Man City made Premier League history, while Haaland set a record of his own.

Erling Haaland set Manchester Derby record as Man City secure Premier League history
Man City have been the most dominant side in the Premier League across the last 10 seasons, as they have won the title on six occasions in this period.
While opposition fans will point to the 115 charges they have from the Premier League looming in the background, there is no doubt that on the pitch they have been the best team in England.
Now, they have made Premier League history by setting a unique record as they beat Man United at Old Trafford.
Man City have now won their opening four games of the Premier League campaign on seven occasions, more than any other club in the division; only Chelsea can rival them, having done it on four occasions.
However, fans of the club will be wary that they’ve only gone on to win the league on just two of the previous six occasions in which they’ve won their first four in the competition, this being in 2012 and 2024.
Meanwhile, Haaland made history with his controversial goal against Man United, which arguably should have been ruled out by the letter of the law.
The Norwegian will not care one bit, as he secured a Manchester Derby record, as he is now the outright top scorer in this fixture.
Haaland has nine goals, which is one more than both Wayne Rooney and Sergio Aguero, who he had previously been tied with before this latest clash.
Erling Haaland voices his opinion on the Manchester Derby victory
The Norwegian spoke after the victory in the Manchester Derby as his side maintained their perfect start to the campaign.
Haaland spoke of his pride in securing the three points despite being a man down for the majority of the fixture and credited their victory to Maresca.
Speaking with Sky Sports, he said: “It’s amazing to win with 10 men! We had to lay low and take our chances when possible.
“This shows the personality and character to keep the ball away at Old Trafford with 10 men. That is personality!”
