Erling Haaland has already set another Fantasy Premier League record before a ball has even be kicked in Manchester City's next fixture.
On Saturday afternoon, Manchester City will look to make it three wins from three games as they welcome newly-promoted Coventry City to the Etihad Stadium for their next Premier League match.
From the start of the season, the fixture was bookmarked by FPL (Fantasy Premier League) managers as a great time to use their triple-captain chip, leading to a new record being set.

Erling Haaland sets record for Triple Captain chips played
For over two years, the record number of Triple Captain chips played in one gameweek came in Double Gameweek 25 of the 2023/24 season.

Back then, 1.5m FPL managers used the triple armband, with many choosing to hand it to City talisman Haaland as he faced both Chelsea and Brentford at home, returning a rather disappointing 10 points across the two games.
But that hasn't stopped a new high of over 1.56m from using the Triple Captain chip on the Norwegian striker ahead of his fixture against Coventry on Saturday afternoon.
In fact, a total of nearly 1.7m have decided to activate the Triple Captain chip this week, with it likely that many of those managers not giving it to Haaland will have given it to another Man City player, or Alexander Isak, who scored 13 points with a brace against Ipswich Town on Friday night.
The decision to back Haaland is one that stands a good chance of paying off massively, with the City star amassed 137 points, from 18 goals, four assists and 19 bonus points, in his last 18 starts against promoted clubs.
And coming off of a brace-scoring performance against Crystal Palace last time out, Haaland is in fine form heading into what could be the most important match of the gameweek in FPL.

Rayan Cherki earns podium spot in FPL history
Alongside Haaland, City teammate Rayan Cherki has become he second most-bought player in a Gameweek ever following his impressive 14 point haul with two goals against Crystal Palace last week.
In total, 2.1m managers have brought the £7.7m midfielder into their teams to target the Coventry City fixture, putting him behind only Cristiano Ronaldo in the all-time transfer records.
Ahead of his Premier League return in Gameweek 4 in the 2021/22 season, 2.2m new managers brought the the football legend into their teams and were quickly rewarded with two goals at home to Newcastle United.
With four attacking returns in just two matches to total 22 points, FPL managers are clearly confident that Cherki could easily match this return against Coventry.
It therefore comes as a massive surprise to new owners that current social media rumours fuelled by various accounts claiming to be Man City insiders have said that Cherki is set to miss out on a spot in the starting lineup vs Coventry.
Various reports have suggested that the Frenchman has been benched for the match alongside two other highly-owned assets in Antoine Semenyo (19.4%) and Nico O'Reilly (18.5%).
