Manchester United are reportedly very impressed by a particular Red Devils star who has asked to come into Carrington to train on his days off.
Ruben Amorim and his Manchester United side have endured a tough start to the 2025/26 campaign and currently sit tenth in the Premier League ahead of their trip to Anfield, where they will face Liverpool on Sunday.
Due to his side’s lacklustre performances, there have been question marks surrounding the future of Amorim, but co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe recently said that the Portuguese “needs to demonstrate he is a great coach over three years”.
Currently, Amorim’s win rate of 40 percent is the lowest of any permanent Manchester United manager in the last 50 years.

The 40-year-old has also failed to guide United to consecutive victories since taking over the role after Erik ten Hag’s departure in the autumn of 2024.
But there may be some reasons for optimism after all.

United’s six summer signings – Matheus Cunha, Enzo Kana-Biyik, Senne Lammens, Diego Leon, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko – have yet to really get going despite some showing glimpses of what they can do.

Cunha has struggled with injury since his switch from Wolves, while Mbeumo has registered three goal involvements in eight games without being at his absolute best.
Sesko, who arrived from RB Leipzig in the summer, has scored in his last two appearances and appears to be settling into life in the Premier League while Leon will be used sporadically given that he is only 18.
Meanwhile, Lammens kept a clean sheet on his debut in the 2-0 win against Sunderland before the international break and will be hoping to do the same at Anfield on Sunday.

On his Old Trafford debut, United supporters even serenaded the 23-year-old with chants of “Are you Schmeichel in disguise?".
A recent report from the Mail claims that United have been impressed by Lammens’ desire to learn, with the Belgian reportedly having asked to come in to training to do extra sessions on his days off.

The United boss was asked about his goalkeeper in a press conference on Friday and was quick to praise the Belgian, stressing that the “fans like him” already.

“Senne did a great job [against Sunderland],” Amorim said.
“It is possible he is going to start the game [against Liverpool]. The first impression in this club is really important; to maintain the level is really important and difficult.
“He is not Schmeichel. He is a young guy, and he showed a lot of composure and the fans like him. He needs to show himself.”
