Fans have mocked Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones after seeing what he did in the moments after Mohamed Salah missed a chance in Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat against Manchester United.
It was an afternoon to forget for Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday as they fell to a shock defeat against arch rivals Manchester United.
Summer signing Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring for Amorim’s side two minutes in before Cody Gakpo levelled things with 12 minutes left.
But there was a twist, as on 84 minutes, Bruno Fernandes’ smart ball into the box found Harry Maguire, who headed past a helpless Giorgi Mamardashvili to claim all three points for the Red Devils and a first win at Anfield since January 2016.

The win marked the first time Amorim has guided his United side to successive victories since undertaking the role of head coach last autumn.
The Red Devils also climbed to ninth in the Premier League following the result.
As for Liverpool, they finished the weekend in third, four points behind leaders Arsenal and one behind second-placed Manchester City – both sides won their respective fixtures against Fulham and Everton on Saturday.

Several key Liverpool players were well off the pace against United, including Alexander Isak, Milos Kerkez and Salah, who missed a clear-cut chance in the second half.
In the 65th minute, the Egyptian received the ball while Liverpool attacked the Kop and appeared to have just Senne Lammens to beat, but he fluffed his lines from close range, leaving everyone inside Anfield baffled - including his own teammate Jones, who even appeared to celebrate in anticipation of a goal before putting his hands on his head in disbelief.
And fans were quick to have their say on social media.

One said: “Bro, look at Curtis Jones pre-celebrating.”
Another added: “Curtis Jones blud thought he was in one of those Marcelo Ronaldo edits.”
A third claimed: “Who does Curtis Jones think he is lmao.”
While a fourth joked: “Best thing about this is that is Jones celebrating prematurely.”

In fairness to Jones, given Salah’s excellent goalscoring record since joining the Reds in 2017 it is usually safe to assume the Egyptian would put away such a chance.
However, this season, the forward has cut a frustrated figure, having scored just twice in eight Premier League appearances.
Salah and Liverpool will hope to return to winning ways when they travel to Germany, where they will face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Wednesday.
