Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has been called out as footage of Milos Kerkez in action for Hungary against Armenia goes viral.
Hungary claimed their first 2026 World Cup qualification win as they eased to a 2-0 win over Armenia at the Puskas Arena.
The result saw the Magyars leapfrog the Havakakan into second spot in Group F, though Hungary still find themselves five points behind perfect Portugal after three matches.
Portugal claimed a late victory over the Republic of Ireland in Lisbon on Saturday night as Ruben Neves finally broke the visitors’ resolve in second half injury time.

Hungary take on Roberto Martinez’s men next week as they look to close the gap at the top of their qualification group with fans hoping Kerkez can put in another solid performance from left-back.
Starting in support of club teammate Dominik Szoboszlai on the left in Hungary’s 4-2-3-1 setup, Kerkez may have failed to contribute to a goal against Armenia, but he looked far more comfortable in his familiar defensive role.
And one Liverpool fan took to X to call out Slot for his misuse of the 21-year-old, who has so far struggled to replicate his Bournemouth performances at Anfield.
“So Kerkez looks excellent when he's bombing down the left flank at pace and overlapping like he did for Bournemouth last season, but doesn't look excellent playing as a CB in buildup? Who knew?!,” @LFCLaurie posted on Saturday night.

Others were in agreement with the initial poster, replying: “Amateur stuff to hold him back. Let him cook”
A second added: “It’s a slot problem”
A third user continued: “Play them the way they did when they were scouted, FFS!?”
However, some users instead criticised the initial poster, pointing out that the level of opposition is far lower than what Liverpool face week in, week out.

“Stop it. That's against Armenia, not Arsenal!” one replied.
“If only he could play Armenia every week” another added.
Kerkez isn’t the only Liverpool signing to have struggled in the opening weeks of their career at Anfield.

Florian Wirtz is another to have been under fire having failed to score or assist in his opening seven league games for the Reds following his big-money arrival from Bayer Leverkusen.
Jeremie Frimpong has also faltered in the opening weeks of his time at Anfield, while Alexander Isak has looked well short of match fitness having gone on strike to secure his record breaking move to Merseyside on deadline day.
Giovanni Leoni, meanwhile, is expected to miss the rest of the season after suffering an ACL injury against Southampton last month.
Slot’s side are hoping to get back to winning ways after the international break having lost their last three matches, falling to successive one-goal defeats to Crystal Palace, Galatasaray and Chelsea.

Liverpool will look to get their title defence back on track when they welcome rivals Manchester United to Anfield next weekend.
United are looking to do something they’ve never done under Ruben Amorim since he took charge last November and win back-to-back league matches having beaten Sunderland last time out.
