Liverpool supporters on social media have shared their thoughts after a clip of Arne Slot went viral following the side’s Champions League exit against Paris Saint-Germain.
On Tuesday (April 14), Luis Enrique’s side proved too strong for Slot’s Liverpool, with the 2025 Champions League winners progressing to the semi-finals with a 2-0 win (4-0 on aggregate), thanks to a brace from Ousmane Dembélé.
The defeat means Liverpool will go a full season without silverware for the first time since the 2022/23 campaign under Jürgen Klopp. The side still face a battle for Champions League qualification, with the Reds currently fifth in the Premier League with six games remaining.
Liverpool’s evening was made even worse when Hugo Ekitike fell to the ground clutching his Achilles tendon during the first half. The France international was stretchered off and replaced by Mohamed Salah.

After the match, Slot admitted that Ekitike’s injury looked “bad”, with unconfirmed reports suggesting he could miss the rest of the season, as well as this summer’s World Cup.
The defeat has also increased scrutiny on Slot and whether he will remain Liverpool head coach next season, with a video of the Dutchman laughing with Enrique appearing to land him in hot water with some Reds supporters on social media.
Several fans slammed the Liverpool boss on social media.
One said: “Standards at this club are on the floor. He just doesn’t care because he knows his job is safe.”
Another added: “Klopp would be banging heads in the changing room. He knows he’s untouchable — the club are f***ing weak.”
A third claimed: “The biggest clowns are the fans who are still turning up to Anfield. Learn something from Lazio fans. The entire stadium is going empty because they aren’t happy with the manager, the management and the performances.”
A fourth commented: “This is not a serious man. Far too comfortable in a nightmare season. Get him gone.”
A fifth wrote: “And here is the exact reason the standards, demands and efforts across the club are the lowest I’ve ever seen in decades. He was even smirking at the start of the interview and tried to make jokes that fell flat. Get him out. He does not care for the club or the city.”
Liverpool return to action away against Merseyside rivals Everton on April 19.
