In their last-16 match, Spain beat 2018 World Cup finalists Croatia 5-3 and booked their place in the quarter-finals after the two sides had to be separated after extra-time, during the eight-goal thriller.
Switzerland, meanwhile, were huge underdogs heading into their last-16 clash with France and were on the verge of being dumped out of the contest before clawing it back to 3-3 in the dying minutes of the game.
Spain have not been at their best this summer, but they put five goals past Slovakia in their final group match before scoring another five against Croatia.
With that said, La Roja must be taken seriously in this competition due to the other sides that have been eliminated - and the Swiss will be wary of just that, too.
"Everyone who is from Switzerland can be very proud today. We've made history - to come back like this, to show this spirit, this character... I'm very proud to be a part of this team." :flag_ch:

With the quarter-finals now underway, our tipster Robert Mann takes a look at some of the best bets from Switzerland vs Spain to get your teeth stuck into.
Switzerland are 17/4 to win, with Spain priced at 4/6 to come away with the victory. A draw is priced at 14/5.
Prediction: 1-3 (12/1)
Half-Time/Full-Time: Draw/Spain (7/2)
Switzerland's giant-killing of France, the pre-tournament favourites for Euro 2020, will be remembered as one of the standout moments of the tournament.
Despite that, though, asking them to repeat that same performance against a well-drilled Spain side - especially with the attacking talent they boast - will be a huge task.
Luis Enrique's star-studded La Roja will, almost certainly, have more of the ball and it will be down to the Swiss to try and make it as difficult for them as possible.
We reckon both teams could start off slow in this one, with Spain taking full control in the second half.
First Goalscorer: Alvaro Morata (10/3)
With all the midfield talent behind him, Alvaro Morata will be licking his lips at the prospect of playing against a defence that has conceded eight goals in four games.
The 28-year-old's tournament did not start off well as he missed gilt-edged chances in Spain's opening game against Sweden, which ended 0-0 despite his side enjoying 85 per cent possession.
But it looks like that form might be behind him and we're backing the Juventus striker to draw first blood this evening.
Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals in match: (11/8)
Intriguingly, there have been 30 goals scored in the eight matches involving Spain and Switzerland at Euro 2020, so if a game ever held the guarantee of goals it is this one.
The Spanish defence has been labelled a weak point with international inexperience the major factor, but the Swiss back three has been more ineffective.
For that reason, we're backing this one to be a goal-fest and odds of 11/8 is, actually, very generous indeed.

The skipper is expected to be replaced by Denis Zakaria in the middle of the park, however, it could otherwise be the same side that took to the field for their last-16 clash.
