Mikel Oyarzabal Tried To Do A Bruno Fernandes Style Penalty, But Failed Massively

Mikel Oyarzabal attempted a Bruno Fernandes style penalty against Manchester United in front of the man himself - but failed massively.

The Real Sociedad captain had the chance to reduce the deficit from the spot after Daniel James conceded a penalty in the opening stages.

But he fluffed his lines, smashing the penalty high and wide after attempting Fernandes' patented hop, skip and jump routine.

Both Dean Henderson and the Portuguese maestro watched the ball sail past the woodwork as the visitors were unable to take their opportunity in front of goal.

Normally reliable from the spot, the 23-year-old was unable to convert his penalty at Old Trafford.

Naturally, his dreadful penalty got fans talking online.

One Twitter user wrote: "Oyarzabal tries to "Fernandes" the penalty against a goalkeeper that trains penalties with Bruno Fernandes."

A second tweeted: "Oyarzabal ain't got Bruno's sauce man."

A third added: "Mikel Oyarzabal really thought he was Bruno Fernandes."
