Italy face Switzerland in an explosive clash in Rome on Wednesday night

Italy will be looking to book their place in the Euro 2020 knockout stages when they host Switzerland at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday night.

The Italians made light work of Turkey in the tournament's curtain-raiser, with star men Ciro Immobile and Lorenzo Insigne both finding the back of the net.

Meanwhile, the Swiss drew their Group A opener against Wales 1-1 and will want to beat the Azzurri - or the Turks - to boost their chances of sealing a spot in the last 16.

Switzerland, however, are the underdogs heading into tonight's game and Italy should be superior enough to claim their second victory of the tournament.

Incredibly, Italy have not lost at all since September 2018 and have yet to concede a goal so far this year - and we expect that wonderful run to continue this evening.

The Azzuri are increasingly optimistic that star man Marco Verratti will be fit to play some part in the group stages - and the midfielder could even be named on the bench tonight.

With this summer's tournament now in full swing, our tipster Robert Mann takes a look at some of the best bets from Italy vs Switzerland to get your teeth stuck into.

Italy vs Switzerland betting tips & predictions

Italy are 3/5 to win, with Switzerland priced at 5/1 to come away with the victory. A draw is priced at 11/4.

Prediction: 3-0 (11/1)

Half-Time/Full-Time Draw/Italy (10/3)

Switzerland are likely to employ similar tactics to those that served Turkey so well for the opening 53 minutes on Friday.

Roberto Mancini's men found themselves repeatedly frustrated by Turkey's deep defensive line and the Swiss are unlikely to open up and leave space in behind, too.

Because of that, we reckon both teams will head in level at the break before Italy come out in the second half all guns blazing.

Italy to win to nil: Italy (6/4)

The Italians have now gone an impressive nine matches without conceding a single goal.

Even more impressively, the side has let in just seven goals over the course of their current 28-match unbeaten streak.

Italy will head into this evening's game having scored over three goals per match during that nine-match winning run. Pretty impressive, right?

Meanwhile, the Swiss guests have only kept three clean sheets in their last 15 - and, because of that, we're backing the Italians to win to nil.

To score a brace: Ciro Immobile (11/1)

Ciro Immobile got the tournament off to a flying start after finding the back of the net during their impressive 3-0 win against Turkey.

Unbelievably, especially when taking his current hot form into account, Immobile scored just twice in qualifying - but there seems to be no stopping him at the moment.

Immobile plays his club football at Wednesday's venue, the Stadio Olimpico, for Lazio and has netted a combined 56 Serie A goals for the Biancocelesti over the last two seasons.

Taking that into account, we reckon Immobile to grab a brace this evening sounds like a good punt.

Italy team news

Star forwards Ciro Immobile and Lorenzo Insigne both found the back of the net last Friday and are being backed to do so again tonight.

Elsewhere, this evening's fixture might come too soon for midfielder Marco Verratti, who may not be match fit, despite overcoming a knee injury.

Manuel Locatelli, linked with a move to the Premier League, will join Chelsea's Jorginho and Nicolo Barella in midfield.

Giovanni Di Lorenzo will start in place of full-back Alessandro Florenzi, who has a calf issue.

Switzerland team news

Italy's overwhelming strength and talent in the midfield could see head coach Vladimir Petkovic bring in Denis Zakaria to counter just that.

Switzerland also called up goalkeeper Gregor Kobel to replace the injured Jonas Omlin as cover for Yann Sommer.

Other than that, the Swiss have a fully-fit side to choose from and it seems as though they'll need it against an Italy side that look ruthless on the attack.
